(1) Misconceptions: The incidence of neonatal eye disease in China is increasing year by year, and early screening for neonatal eye disease is crucial to children’s eye care. As people’s health awareness increases, the number of people receiving newborn eye screening increases year by year, but there are still some parents and even medical personnel who do not understand the importance of newborn eye screening, resulting in babies missing the time for treatment. (2) The early screening of newborns is a common problem for neonatologists and ophthalmologists because of the young age of the babies, especially during the period when many high-risk babies are under supervision and treatment. This requires active cooperation between neonatologists and ophthalmologists in screening newborns, including high-risk infants, and early implementation after the vital signs of high-risk infants have stabilized. (3) Many congenital eye diseases in children are more difficult to treat, and there is no good treatment for them.
