In a lumbar compression fracture, the CT can generally show the extrusion of bone blocks in the spinal canal, extrusion at the spinal nerve, the edge of the vertebral body in a state of comminution or instability, the fragmented bone blocks and fragmented bone gaps can be clearly seen, and the symptoms of nerve compression in the spinal canal can also be seen, sometimes with the manifestation of arch root injury. At this point, it is necessary to determine whether the patient needs surgery based on imaging. If there is a significant bone mass visible in the spinal canal that is compressing the nerve, aggressive surgical treatment is needed to address the spinal nerve compression. If there is no obvious bone mass in the spinal canal and the patient has normal muscle strength and sensation, conservative treatment can be used.
