OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of weekly dose paclitaxel combined with cisplatin (wTP regimen) as postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer. METHODS: Twenty patients with postoperative breast cancer were treated with the wTP regimen for 4 to 6 cycles at 21 to 28 days. Toxic and side effects and survival were monitored after administration. Results: The 5-year survival rate was 90% in the whole group of 20 patients. The main side effects were bone marrow suppression and gastrointestinal reactions, all of which were reversible. CONCLUSION: The wTP regimen was tolerated as an adjuvant chemotherapy regimen after breast cancer surgery, and the long-term survival rate of patients was high.
