What is capillary bronchitis?

Capillary bronchitis is an acute respiratory tract inflammation caused by respiratory syncytial virus, adenovirus, and parainfluenza virus. 1. What are the signs and symptoms of pediatric capillary bronchitis? Children often present with persistent dry cough and episodes of dyspnea in the first 2-3 days of upper respiratory tract infection, with varying severity of symptoms and often with moderate to high fever. The child presents with clear consciousness, drowsiness, irritability, greenish-gray face, rapid breathing, shallow and fast breathing 60-80 times/minute, fine and fast pulse, and heart rate 160-200 times/minute, during the onset of respiratory distress. The lungs sound drum on auscultation, the breath sounds are low on auscultation, the wheezing is obvious, and some children show dehydration due to the increase of non-significant water loss. 2.What are the nursing measures for the treatment of capillary bronchitis? Closely observe vital signs: mental status, respiration, heart rate, temperature changes. Maintain the correct and appropriate position to ensure the child is quiet and breathing well. Ultrasound nebulization and oxygen inhalation can effectively assist the child in sputum evacuation, and coughing can be patted on the back for postural drainage. Provide nutrition to meet the normal metabolism of the child. Apply effective antibiotics, antispasmodic and antiasthmatic drugs and drugs to improve pulmonary circulation. In case of fever, apply warm water, alcohol rubbing bath or medicine to cool down the temperature, and supplement sufficient amount of fluid in time. 3.How to prevent the occurrence of capillary bronchitis after discharge from hospital? Keep the air in the room fresh, ventilate daily, pay attention to keeping warm in winter and early spring when the season changes, do not use air conditioning, avoid visiting children with respiratory infections, avoid carrying children into crowded workplaces, parents with children pay attention to their own cleanliness and hygiene, disinfect children’s dishes by boiling 1-2 times a day to prevent diarrhea.
