Do babies’ boogers need to be cleaned up?

Infants with nasal cavities need to be cleared. Since babies’ nasal cavity is small and the nasal mucosa is delicate and easily congested and edematous, it is easy to block the nostrils when there are boogers in the nasal cavity, which will in turn affect their feeding and sleeping. If the baby’s boogers are superficial, you can use a cotton swab dipped in saline to moisten the boogers and roll them out gently. If the boogers are deep and dry, you can put a few drops of saline or seawater nasal spray in the nasal cavity, wait for about 5 minutes to soften the boogers, and then roll them out with a cotton swab. You can also buy a nasal aspirator from a special mother and baby store. The front end is made of silicone, which can suck out the boogers through the principle of negative pressure attraction, and the silicone material is soft and will not cause damage to the baby’s nasal mucosa. It should be noted that even if the baby’s boogers cannot be cleaned out by the above methods, you should not use cotton swabs to pull them out, and you should not use your fingernails to pick them out, so as not to damage the baby’s nasal mucosa.
