What to do about polycystic

The incidence of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is gradually increasing in adolescent and reproductive age women. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common endocrine disorder of reproductive dysfunction combined with metabolic disorders in adolescent and pregnant women, and is also a common and difficult to treat gynecological endocrine disease. The causes are complex and the symptoms are diverse. Studies have shown that the TCM evidence is mainly focused on kidney deficiency, liver depression, phlegm-dampness, blood stasis, etc., and the evidence of concurrent entrapment is common. Depending on the patient’s condition, clinical treatment methods vary, each taking its own advantages, and are mostly personalized programs. However, long-term use of androgen-lowering drugs affects liver function, and ovulation-promoting drugs tend to produce drug resistance or ovarian hyperstimulation and other adverse effects. With the further improvement of Chinese medicine’s understanding of polycystic ovary syndrome, the efficacy of Chinese medicine on this disease has shown good prospects, and currently this disease is mostly treated with the combination of Chinese and Western medicine and has achieved good efficacy. Further research can explore the rules of combined Chinese and Western medicine for this disease, and discuss the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome from acupuncture, moxibustion, massage and six meridians, providing a scientific basis for the combined treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome. Polycystic ovary syndrome needs to be treated with Western medicine, or a combination of Western and Chinese medicine, depending on the patient’s condition.
