Respiratory muscle weakness is most commonly caused by peripheral nerve diseases and serious muscle diseases, the most common of which are Green-Barre syndrome, myasthenia gravis, motor neuron disease, polymyositis, etc. Some of these diseases involve peripheral nerves and cause weakness in the muscles they innervate, some directly involve the muscles and cause decreased muscle movement, and some involve the neuromuscular junction so that the nerve impulses are not well distributed to the muscles to make them contract. The nerve impulses are not sent to the muscles to make them contract. Once respiratory muscle weakness occurs, it may affect the patient’s respiratory function, resulting in ventilation and ventilation dysfunction and respiratory failure, which requires timely resuscitation treatment.
