If a fracture involves surgery, internal fixation of the fracture must be used. There are many methods of internal fixation of fractures, and the fixation method usually needs to be determined according to the specific part of the fracture and the specific anatomical structure, for example, the clavicle fracture can be fixed with the clavicle S-plate and the clavicle hook plate. Proximal humeral fractures are fixed with proximal humeral condylar locking plates, proximal humeral subcondylar locking plates, and proximal humeral condylar plates. Other sites are also fixed with special locking plates, or hollow compression screws and interlocking intramedullary pins, as well as pedicle nails. The method of fixation varies widely depending on the site of the fracture and the surgeon’s surgical experience.
