How long does it usually take for acute laryngitis to heal?

Acute pharyngitis requires treatment for the cause, as well as rest and diet, and usually recovers after a week. Acute pharyngitis can be divided into viral pharyngitis and bacterial pharyngitis depending on the cause. Viral pharyngitis is self-limiting and can be treated symptomatically or with antiviral therapy, such as taking ribavirin oral solution or ganciclovir tablets, and resting at regular intervals, which can gradually return to normal after a week. And bacterial pharyngitis is mostly caused by hemolytic streptococcal infection, timely and effective antibiotic treatment, such as taking amoxicillin, clavulanic acid potassium tablets, can also be recovered after a week. However, if the patient’s own immunity is low and the condition is severe, the course of the disease may be relatively prolonged. Patients with acute pharyngitis should pay attention to drinking more water, eating a light diet, abstaining from spicy and irritating food, eating more fruits and vegetables in their daily life, and also following medical advice to use Chinese medicine appropriately.
