In the last decade, the Nordic popular exercise therapy for neck, shoulder and back pain – S.E.T technology treatment – has been very effective. The reason for this is the strong basic research results behind the S.E.T technique. Since spinal disorders are the most common human diseases, Europe and the United States have spent huge amounts of money on in-depth research. As a result, it was found that behind the various common spinal disorders lies a common pathological process, namely muscle dysfunction. As the only animal that walks upright, the human spine has the heavy task of being strong enough to carry weight and flexible enough to meet the needs of daily activities. Therefore, during the long evolutionary process, the muscles surrounding the human spine have differentiated in different directions. The small muscles immediately surrounding the cervical and lumbar vertebrae, known medically as the local stabilizing muscles, have a mechanical advantage because they are tightly attached around the spine, and their role is mainly to protect the vertebrae and prevent excessive vertebral movement. The other group of muscles, the large muscles that we can usually touch on the surface of the body, are mainly responsible for the movement of the spine. Due to trauma, poor posture, etc., the local stabilizing muscles of the neck develop muscle weakness, atrophy, dysfunction and other lesions. In this case, in order to stabilize and protect the spine, the large muscle groups have to work continuously, acting as both father and mother, and over time, muscle spasm and strain occur, leading to neck pain in patients. At the same time, due to mechanical disadvantages, the large muscle groups do not really play a role in protecting the cervical spine, and the cervical spine gradually develops various instabilities and degenerations, which also cause pain, cervical vertigo and other problems. Understanding these conditions, rehabilitation doctors have gradually developed a set of treatment techniques, of which S.E.T is the core. Through the use of specially designed training techniques, the patient actively completes a series of training movements on the treatment equipment under the guidance and cooperation of the doctor, which can quickly mobilize and restore the function of the local stabilizing muscles and relax the large tense muscles, and is very effective because it addresses the root of the muscle function problem. Traditional treatment techniques, mostly passive, can only relieve pain or relax large muscles, but cannot restore the function of local stabilizing muscles, so the effect is not lasting. s.e.t. technology represents a new treatment concept, with immediate symptom reduction, no pain, no negative effects and relatively low cost after treatment, and is a green technology with great application prospects. The whole training procedure lasts about half an hour, and it takes about five treatments (about fifty dollars each) for young and middle-aged patients with neck pain, and ten to twenty treatments for patients in the chronic stage of cervical spondylosis to get significantly better. At the same time, it also has a very significant effect on patients with chronic low back pain and lumbar spinal stenosis.
