Neonatal dacryocystitis compression method

The purpose of lacrimal sac massage is to increase the hydrostatic pressure in the lacrimal sac and to open the cellular debris and membranous obstruction at the lower end of the nasolacrimal duct through pressure conduction, as well as to discharge the stored tear fluid and mucopurulent secretions from the lacrimal sac to reduce the infection. A part of the children can be cured after conservative treatment. Massage method: A tough ligament (inner canthal ligament) can be found slightly lateral to the inner corner of the affected eye, below the inner canthal ligament is the tear sac area, use the thumb or index finger to squeeze the tear sac area backward and downward with sudden force, clean the local secretions after massage, and dose with antibiotic eye drops. Massage and dosing 2-4 times daily.
