Laminated stents – smooth feeding for esophageal cancer patients

Esophageal cancer and cardia cancer are commonly known as “choking”, most of the patients are starved to death because they cannot eat, and some patients die due to the complication of esophage-tracheal fistula and esophageal mediastinal fistula. Traditional treatment methods: Surgery is the first choice of treatment, with definite effect but big trauma; radiotherapy is suitable for inoperable patients, with better effect but time-consuming, partly unsatisfactory effect and radiation damage. Interventional treatment is suitable for inoperable esophageal cancer, those with severe stenosis affecting eating even after radiotherapy, those with combined esophageal fistula, and inoperable cardia cancer. By inserting the catheter selectively into the tumor blood supply artery, we can significantly improve the eating condition of most cardia cancer patients without surgery, and combined with the placement of overlapping stents, we can solve the eating problem of most patients without surgery and seal the esophageal fistula, so that patients can eat smoothly.
