The novel coronavirus is heat sensitive and can be inactivated by heating at 56°C for 30 minutes. Family prevention guidelines issued by the Chinese Center for Disease Control clearly recommend not to touch, buy and eat wild animals (i.e. wild game), to separate raw from cooked, and to separate cutting boards, knives, pots, pans, bowls and other utensils used for processing and serving raw meat, aquatic products and vegetables from those used for cooked food, and to clean and disinfect them promptly after use. Avoid going to markets that sell live animals (poultry, seafood, wild animals, etc.), and fully cook poultry meat and eggs before consumption. It is possible to inactivate the novel coronavirus by cooking meat and eggs. To ensure inactivation of the virus, the heating time can be ensured to be 30 minutes as much as possible.
