Gastric ulcer stage A1 refers to active ulcers. If the ulcer is simply active and is not complicated by bleeding, obstruction or cancer, the condition is not serious and can be treated with oral medication in the outpatient clinic and can mostly be completely cured. It is recommended to further improve the carbon 13 or carbon 14 breath test to understand whether the gastric ulcer is caused by H. pylori infection. If HP infection exists, formal HP eradication treatment is required under the guidance of a doctor. The current recommendation is quadruple therapy, PPI plus bismuth plus two antibiotics, and the course of treatment is 10-14 days, while the total course of gastric ulcer treatment is 6-8 weeks. In addition, if there are complications of gastric ulcer, such as commonly ulcer with bleeding, ulcer perforation or with cancer or obstruction, the condition is more serious and requires hospitalization. Therefore, it is recommended that whenever the presence of gastric ulcer is clear under gastroscopy, it must be treated regularly under the guidance of a doctor to avoid delays.
