What is meant by a neoplastic lesion of the pancreas?

Pancreatic neoplastic lesions usually refer to tumors that occur in the pancreas and require prompt medical treatment once detected. Pancreatic tumors can be benign or malignant. Clinically, we can obtain biopsy tissues by puncture for pathological examination or surgical exploration to obtain tissues for intraoperative frozen examination to determine the benign or malignant nature of pancreatic tumors before we can give targeted treatment. Patients with benign pancreatic tumors can undergo resection of the tumor, but malignant pancreatic tumors require more extensive surgery to deal with the lesion, and post-operative adjuvant radiotherapy is also needed to slow down the metastasis and recurrence of the disease.
