Should hypertensive patients take long-term antihypertensive drugs

Hello, I would like to share a question about hypertension with you today. The most common question asked by many patients in my work is whether they need to continue taking medication after their blood pressure has dropped to normal, and my answer is definitely to continue taking medication. This is because the blood pressure is reduced to normal because of the antihypertensive drugs, if you want to continue to maintain a stable and normal blood pressure still need the help of drugs. The common concern is whether the blood pressure will be lost if you continue to take the medication, the answer is also yes: absolutely not. The human body has a more sophisticated structure than any instrument, and high blood pressure is the result of the body’s regulatory function no longer being able to maintain blood pressure at a normal level. When the medication brings the blood pressure back to normal, the body’s regulatory function can work within its capacity to maintain the blood pressure at a normal level. Therefore, please remember that antihypertensive drugs only lower high blood pressure but do not affect normal blood pressure. Once hypertension occurs, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible and work with your doctor to choose the right drug for long-term treatment to prevent cardiovascular disease. May all hypertensive patients become healthier and healthier!
