Precautions after dental implant surgery

Thirty percent of dental implant patients do not know how to take care of their dental implants. In fact, there are two types of care, short-term and long-term, after dental implants. The short-term care requirements are as follows: You should not eat until two hours after surgery, and you should eat a semi- or full-liquid diet on the same day. Patients who have implants immediately after extraction should not chew hard food with dental implants for three months after surgery; they should not brush the teeth in the surgical area for 72 hours after surgery to avoid irritating the wound or tearing it. It is better to quit smoking or reduce smoking after surgery, not more than 3 cigarettes per day; start taking antibiotics one day before surgery, and still take antibiotics routinely for one week after surgery, and insist on rinsing with mouthwash several times a day; closely observe the healing of the wound, and report to the doctor in time to solve the problems such as wound cracking, severe pain after surgery, bad taste in the mouth, nose bleeding, etc.; do not exercise strenuously after surgery, do not drive, do not drink alcohol. Drink alcohol. It is not advisable to chew too hard food with dental implants. Try not to laugh, shout, sing K, or speak frequently within two weeks after surgery to prevent excessive movement of the cheek and wound tearing. The following points should be noted for long-term care: Follow up on time and let the doctor check the dental implant. If abnormalities are found, correct them in a timely manner; let the dental implant “carry the load” reasonably. Generally speaking, after the implant is completed, you should follow the principle of “soft to hard” and gradually exercise the chewing ability of the dental implant to prevent excessive force; do the daily cleaning and care of the dental implant. In addition to brushing your teeth once a day in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening and rinsing your mouth after meals, you should pay special attention to the hygiene of your dental implants. Brush gently to avoid damaging the gums around the dental implants. The area around the dental implant is prone to food embedding and can be cleaned with dental floss, etc.
