Is the new pneumonia well treated?

Whether or not novel coronavirus pneumonia is well-treated often depends on the patient’s condition. Most patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia have fever, malaise, and dry cough as the main manifestations, while some patients may have mild disease or even no obvious fever. In a few critically ill patients, the disease progresses rapidly, with acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, uncorrectable metabolic acidosis and coagulation dysfunction. At present, there is no specific drug for the new coronavirus, and clinical treatment is mainly isolation and rest and symptomatic treatment. Patients with mild coronavirus pneumonia have a good prognosis after appropriate treatment and can be discharged from the hospital. However, the prognosis of a few elderly and frail patients with underlying diseases is poor and the mortality rate is high.
