Severe stenosis of intracranial arterial plaque – stent placement

Intracranial arterial vascular under the influence of various factors (such as: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hemodynamic abnormalities, smoking, etc.), easily lead to intimal damage, the formation of atherosclerotic plaque, and gradually grow, causing vascular sclerosis, severe stenosis, which can lead to severe shortage of blood supply to the brain, cognitive decline, brain atrophy, dementia, and cerebrovascular embolism, the occurrence of transient ischemic attack (TIA), cerebral infarction, etc. Especially in severe stenosis, the general drug treatment is not good, and early angioplasty and stenting are needed to effectively control the occurrence of severe stroke events and improve the symptoms of cerebral ischemia. Case 1: Severe stenosis of the internal carotid artery with frequent right-sided limb weakness and paralysis, slurred speech, and ineffective drug treatment. Preoperatively: 95% severe stenosis of the internal carotid artery, frequent TIAs. Postoperatively: stenosis basically lifted, good cerebral blood supply, no further TIAs Case 2: 90% severe stenosis of the intracranial basilar artery, frequent impairment of consciousness, tetraplegia, incontinence Preoperative cerebral angiography: severe stenosis of the basilar artery After stenting: normalization of blood vessels, no further attacks
