How long does it take for acetaminophen suppositories to work?

Acetaminophen suppositories are mainly used for fever caused by the common cold and influenza, and are generally effective within 0.5-1 hours after administration. The route of administration of acetaminophen suppositories is rectal, which is rapidly absorbed into the blood through the rectal mucosa, and part of the drug does not go through the first-pass effect of the liver (i.e., the drug is metabolized in the liver, and the amount of drug entering the blood circulation is reduced), so the effective blood concentration of the drug can be increased. It is usually effective about 0.5-1 hour after administration. If fever or pain persists, the drug can be repeated once at an interval of 4-6 hours, with no more than 4 capsules in 24 hours. This drug is suitable for fever with a body temperature of 38.5℃ or higher. If the body temperature does not drop after using the drug, do not repeat the drug at home by yourself, but go to the hospital infection department or fever clinic in time to clarify the cause and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
