Treatment and prevention of colon cancer

The clinical treatment principle of colon cancer is mainly surgical resection, taking comprehensive treatment methods, combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy to reduce the recurrence rate of cancer after surgery and improve the survival rate of patients. 1.Surgical treatment Surgical resection treatment is mainly radical colon cancer surgery, which includes the intestinal collaterals where the cancer is located and the whole colon mesentery, which can not only remove the cancer itself, but also completely clean up the lymph node area where metastasis may occur, so as to achieve the purpose of cure. 2.Chemotherapy In terms of chemotherapy for colon cancer, as the cancer grows and develops and gradually metastasizes to distant places, most patients have metastasis at the time of diagnosis, so adjuvant chemotherapy after radical surgery is an important part of comprehensive treatment for colon cancer. The mechanism of chemotherapy is to control and gradually destroy the residual lesions in the body after radical surgery. Radiotherapy is a common treatment for patients with unresectable tumors or distant metastases or advanced colon cancer. Radiotherapy can reduce the scope of tumors and improve clinical symptoms, but it is more harmful to the patient’s organism. 4.Biological therapy Biological therapy includes immunotherapy and gene therapy, and immunotherapy is more commonly used in clinical practice at present. The purpose is to mobilize the natural anti-cancer ability of human body and restore the balance of internal environment of the organism. 5.Targeted therapy Targeted therapy is to design the corresponding therapeutic drugs at the cellular molecular level for the defined cancer-causing sites, and the drugs will specifically select the cancer-causing sites for combination and action after entering the body, so that the tumor cells will specifically die without affecting the surrounding normal tissue cells. Prevention (1) Regular stool occult blood test: it is used for early detection and diagnosis of various gastrointestinal bleeding diseases, especially colorectal cancer. (2) More exercise: Don’t be sedentary without exercise, and do more outdoor exercise. (3) Diet: eat less cold, spicy and stimulating food.
