Recruiting subjects with overactive bladder The Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of Guang’anmen Hospital, Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine has undertaken the Beijing Science and Technology Program — Capital Clinical Characteristics Applied Research Project “Effectiveness, Efficacy and Safety of Electroacupuncture for Overactive Bladder — A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial Study” ( Project No.: Z121107001012148) has been initiated. The aim of this project is to scientifically evaluate the efficacy of electroacupuncture in the treatment of overactive bladder. Now Guang’anmen Hospital is jointly conducting this study with 4 other tertiary hospitals, and 180 subjects with overactive bladder are to be recruited. Jia Baohui, Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Guang’anmen Hospital, Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CACM) 60 subjects with overactive bladder are expected to be recruited in Guang’anmen Hospital.       (2) Meet the diagnostic criteria: overactive bladder, a syndrome characterized by symptoms of urinary urgency, often accompanied by urinary frequency and nocturia, with or without urge incontinence; no urinary tract infection or other definite lesions.       (3) Frequent urination (≥8 voiding times in 24 hours) (4) No medication used for the disease pattern within 2 weeks prior to study entry and no acupuncture or Chinese medicine treatment within 1 month prior to study entry, and no participation in other ongoing clinical studies.                                                           (5) Symptoms have been present for at least 3 months prior to diagnosis.       (6) Voluntarily sign the informed consent form. Able to assist in completing a voiding diary and questionnaire.         Note: Patients who meet both of these criteria will be included in this study.        If you (or your family members or friends) meet the above conditions and are willing to participate in this study, please bring the relevant case information to our office for consultation and enrollment. For patients who meet the conditions in the initial screening, we will provide you with free routine stool examination, and if necessary, free colonoscopy or lower gastrointestinal imaging, etc. Acupuncture treatment continues for 8 weeks of treatment.
