The survival time of mediastinal malignant tumor is generally based on the patient’s condition and personal constitution, so the survival time cannot be generalized.
If a patient is suffering from mediastinal malignant tumor, such as neuroendocrine tumor or malignant teratoma, the survival time may be prolonged if he/she actively cooperates with the doctor to carry out chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, and the patient’s life expectancy may be shortened if there is metastasis, malignant change of the condition, or spreading and transferring of the cancer cells, and so on.
If the patient’s condition is of a milder degree and has been effectively treated, with no obvious complications and sequelae after surgery, the survival time may be relatively longer.
It is recommended that patients should go to the hospital for relevant diagnosis and treatment immediately when they feel unwell, so as to avoid delaying their condition.
