Walking is not recommended for severe patella fractures with heavy pain and swelling symptoms, when patients have more difficulty walking and do not purposely do so. However, when the patella is slightly fractured, or when the fracture symptoms are not obvious, it is easy to overlook. At this time, intense exercise and prolonged walking can lead to further knee and patella damage, and in severe cases, patellar tendon rupture, ligament damage and serious damage to the meniscus. If the patella is not initially displaced, strenuous exercise and prolonged walking will cause the patella to be displaced again, losing the possibility of conservative treatment and bringing inconvenience to the subsequent treatment. For displaced fractures surgical incision and solid fixation treatment is recommended. For patients with patellar fractures, daily walking is not recommended and early treatment should be given to prevent dislocation of the fractured end.
