There are five types of paediatric halitosis.
Corrosive halitosis: unhygienic mouth, usually without rinsing, there will be tartar on the gum margin, residue inside the embedded teeth, fermentation, causing bad breath.
purulent halitosis: children with foreign bodies in the nasal cavity or sinusitis, lung abscesses, etc., the location of the lesion will produce erosion, pus, ulcers and other conditions that cause bad breath.
food-based halitosis: children who prefer to eat foods such as onions, garlic and leeks in general, which produce bad breath.
rancid halitosis: bad breath caused by indigestion due to gastrointestinal dysfunction.
Rancid fruity halitosis: more common in children with diabetes.
