What are the most common antipyretic drugs used in children with fever?

Commonly used antipyretics in children include aspirin, acetaminophen and ibuprofen, but they all have certain adverse effects. Aspirin-based drugs, can irritate the stomach causing nausea and vomiting. Antipyretics can be used if children over 2 months of age have a temperature ≥38.2°C with significant discomfort.
Acetaminophen or ibuprofen is recommended for high fever, and drugs such as anandamide, acetylsalicylic acid, pau d’arco, hydroxypau d’arco, indomethacin, aspirin, lysergicin, nimesulide and aminopyrine are not recommended for use as antipyretics in children, and the use of glucocorticoids as antipyretics to reduce fever in children is opposed.
