Correction of upper eyelid hollows The usual method of correcting eyelid hollows is fat grafting. However, the use of previous grafting methods may result in upper eyelid motor dysfunction and skin dimpling. Therefore we have introduced an open procedure that is more precise than the minimally invasive procedure. Resetting the upper eyelid fat and grafting it to the fat layer of the orbicularis oculi muscle can achieve satisfactory treatment results. Below, the open treatment of upper eyelid depressions is illustrated. Figure 1 A Preoperative photograph of the patient. The patient complains of an upper eyelid depression with significant medial canthus. The area of depression is located on the eyelid and medial brow. B 3 months after blepharoplasty and orbicularis oculi fat grafting Figure 2 A Preoperative photograph of a 34-year-old female patient. The patient complained of sunken upper eyelid. An incisional double eyelid with fat grafting was performed on the patient. B 1 month postoperative photograph of patient. C 8-month postoperative photograph of the patient. Figure 3 A Preoperative photograph of a 51-year-old female patient. The patient had a severely sunken upper eyelid with ptosis. An upper blepharoplasty with levator stretching and fat grafting was performed on the patient. C 19-month postoperative photograph with partial absorption of fat and change in the area of depression. Figure 4
