What is confined small cell lung cancer

Small cell lung cancer is a type of lung cancer that is relatively malignant, and limited small cell lung cancer is usually early stage.
Small cell lung cancer only accounts for a small proportion of primary lung cancer, about 15%. Small cell lung cancer is fast-growing and highly invasive, and the cells will replicate and expand rapidly. Therefore, when clinically detected, the tumors are large and often invade large blood vessels and main bronchial tubes, and mediastinal lymph nodes and distant metastases occur earlier, which are highly sensitive to radiotherapy.
Small cell lung cancer in limited stage mainly means that the tumor is more limited, confined to one side of the chest cavity. If there are mediastinal or supraclavicular lymph node metastases, it also belongs to limited stage. The main significance of limited stage is that its treatment effect will be better because the tumor has not developed distant metastasis, and good results can be achieved through surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other treatment methods.
For early stage small cell lung cancer with limited lesions, it is recommended to adopt surgical resection and continue treatment with adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery. After surgery, follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review, quit smoking and take a light diet in order to get a better prognosis.
