The nose is located in the middle of the face and has a great impact on the appearance of the face. Both men and women want to have a beautiful nose, men want a straight, atmospheric nose; women want a delicate, beautiful nose. The noses of oriental races are naturally low, especially when the nasal tip is low, the bridge is too short, and the nostrils are too far forward. Therefore, in East Asia, rhinoplasty is an important part of facial cosmetic surgery. Rhinoplasty has a long history, initially using autologous rib cartilage, iliac bone, etc., which was gradually replaced by artificial materials due to high damage, absorption and deformation. After years of practice, the artificial materials with good results now include silicone prosthesis, porous polytetrafluoroethylene (tumescent), porous polyethylene (Medpor). These materials have good results in raising the bridge of the nose, but when lifting and lengthening the tip of the nose, skin breakdown and exposure of the prosthesis will occur, and eventually the operation will fail. Even if the bridge of the nose is raised, over time the contours of the prosthesis will be revealed due to thinning of the skin, affecting the appearance. The shortage of artificial materials and the higher demand for nose aesthetics have brought us back to the application of autologous materials. Therefore, we use autologous auricular cartilage and nasal septum cartilage to solve the cosmetic needs of the tip of the nose, and use prosthetic materials or autologous rib cartilage (the amount of this cartilage is also sufficient to solve the tip of the nose) to augment the bridge of the nose. In the past, the deformation problem of the whole rib cartilage transplantation was solved by chopping up the rib cartilage and injecting it into the nasal bridge area, which is a less damaging operation and does not deform. Although the thorax leaves incision marks, we use minimally invasive surgery on an incision of about 2.5cm (for women at the lower edge of the breast), which is gradually being reintroduced by beauty lovers.
