Currently, according to China’s criteria for determining hypertension, the normal range of blood pressure is 90-120 mmHg systolic and 60-80 mmHg diastolic, so a blood pressure of 109/60 mmHg is in the normal range, at which point there are generally no uncomfortable symptoms. The current Chinese guidelines for hypertension state that a blood pressure of more than 140/90mmHg, measured three times on different days, is diagnosed as hypertension. Some people may have a low blood pressure, such as a systolic blood pressure of 90-100 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of 60-70 mmHg, when the blood pressure status can still meet the systemic organ perfusion. However, some elderly people, especially the elderly, may experience dizziness, weakness and blurred vision when their blood pressure is at 100/60 mmHg, especially after taking oral antihypertensive drugs, which can lead to symptoms of relatively inadequate blood supply to the brain if the blood pressure drops more significantly. If the blood pressure is within the normal range, but the corresponding symptoms of insufficient blood supply to the brain still appear, it is still necessary to adjust the antihypertensive drugs under the advice of the doctor, or look for the causes of low blood pressure, including heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, etc., which can be further clarified by cardiac ultrasound, electrocardiogram, etc.
