A rib fracture with dislocation usually requires about 3-4 weeks of rest, depending on the extent of the fracture and dislocation. Rib fractures are mainly characterized by severe localized pain, limited turning and movement, and pain that can be triggered by deep breathing, so it is recommended to seek immediate medical treatment, usually a rib x-ray or CT examination is required for a definitive diagnosis. If the fracture end is significantly displaced and there are serious complications such as hemothorax or pneumothorax, the complications should be treated first and then the fracture end should be further treated after the vital signs are stabilized. If the displacement of the rib fracture is not obvious, a rib fixation belt can be used to protect the fracture, and the pain is usually relieved after 2 weeks of fixation. If the fracture end is significantly displaced and complications such as hemopneumothorax occur, surgical treatment can be performed if necessary.
