Severe cervical spine trauma, we take it in stride

Ms. Li, 43, a family living in Qingyuan, a small city in the north of Guangzhou, lived a dull and happy life, but 2 years ago, this happiness was interrupted by a car accident. The car accident caused Ms. Li to suffer multiple injuries all over her body and severe fractures in her cervical vertebrae, and the fractures were in cervical 1 and 2, which were close to the medulla oblongata respiratory and heartbeat center and were life-threatening at any time, and she was lucky to survive the car accident. Considering the seriousness of the disease, the local hospital referred the patient to our intensive care unit, and I was asked to consult the ICU. The patient’s fracture was severely unstable and could be aggravated at any time. After stabilizing the vital signs, we promptly performed surgery. After the surgery, the patient’s condition improved day by day, and by the time he was discharged from the hospital, he was able to walk on the ground and take care of himself completely. The smiles were back on the faces of the family.
