About vaginal bleeding

Vaginal bleeding is a common complaint in gynecologic visits; bleeding can occur from any part of a woman’s reproductive tract, including the body of the uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva. However, most of the bleeding comes from the uterine corpus. Common causes of vaginal bleeding: 1. Ovarian endocrine dysfunction: including both anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding and ovulatory menstrual dysfunction, as well as uterine bleeding due to follicular rupture during the intermenstrual period and a transient drop in estrogen levels. 2.Uterine bleeding related to pregnancy: common ones are miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease, etc. 3.Inflammatory diseases of genitalia: such as vulvar ulcer, vaginitis, acute cervicitis, cervical polyps and endometritis. 4.Genital tumors: uterine fibroids are common benign tumors that cause vaginal bleeding. Ovarian tumors that secrete estrogen can also cause vaginal bleeding. Almost all other tumors are malignant, including vulvar cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, uterine sarcoma, choriocarcinoma, fallopian tube cancer, ovarian cancer, etc. 5.Injury, foreign body and exogenous sex hormone: Reproductive tract trauma such as vulva, vaginal riding injury, hymen or vaginal injury due to sexual intercourse can cause bleeding. Intrauterine device placement is often complicated by uterine bleeding, and improper use of estrogen or progestin can cause irregular uterine bleeding. 6. Vaginal bleeding related to systemic diseases; such as thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, leukemia, liver function damage, etc., can lead to uterine bleeding. Therefore, women, when you have abnormal vaginal bleeding, go to the hospital in time.
