For adult patients, what should family members do when they have a seizure?

In adult seizures, the principles of on-the-spot management are basically similar to those of children’s seizures. When there is an aura of seizure, help the patient to lie on his or her side to prevent sudden falls and bruises. 2. Remove potentially dangerous objects from the surrounding area, ensure the safety of the environment and surrounding ventilation, and avoid onlookers. 3.Check the patient who falls on the ground for trauma, and if there is any trauma, it should be treated according to the specific situation. 4.Unlock the patient’s tie, clothespin, scarf, etc., such as possible deduction of intraoral dentures, food, etc., to keep the airway open. Stand the head sideways so that food or vomit/sputum in the mouth flows out of the mouth as much as possible to avoid asphyxia due to accidental inhalation. 5. Do not press the patient’s limbs to avoid fractures or muscle strains. 6. Do not forcefully instill medication to avoid accidental aspiration. 7.After the seizure until the patient is fully conscious, a family member needs to accompany the patient to avoid accidents. 8, detailed records of the patient’s seizure symptoms, duration, etc., can be recorded on video, to provide a basis for doctors to determine the type of epilepsy. 9. Call “120” in time, or send the patient to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.
