The Importance of Cardiac Ultrasound Physical Examinations

The clinical symptoms of congenital lesions and valvular disease of the heart are mostly insidious and easily ignored by patients and non-cardiologists, and are often seen with colds, stomach problems, etc. Unless cardiac ultrasound is performed, they are easily misdiagnosed and missed. Some heart diseases require early surgical treatment, such as congenital heart disease, larger atrial septal defects, ventricular septal defects, patent ductus arteriosus, pulmonary venous malformation drainage, tetralogy of Fallot, etc., which should be treated early or followed up regularly. The unfavorable consequences of not correcting them in time are aggravated pulmonary hypertension, severely diminished cardiac function, causing severe thoracic deformities, and even loss of surgical opportunities. Therefore, for some people without obvious adverse symptoms, regular cardiac ultrasound examination is essential.
