If there is no bleeding on the skin surface, but only subcutaneous bleeding, recovery is usually quick, and the hematoma will be completely absorbed in 1 to 2 weeks. If the patient presents with a scalp laceration and cleared sutures, and there is no local infection, along with pharmacologic intervention, full recovery can occur in as little as 4 to 7 days. If the patient has a local skin infection, the first step is to actively fight the infection and clear the wound, and the recovery time is relatively longer.
