If creatinine exceeds 133 μmol/L, it indicates renal insufficiency. At present, the determination of renal function in China is mainly through the glomerular filtration rate, and the corresponding glomerular filtration rate decreases when creatinine is elevated. The normal range of creatinine is 40-120μmol/L, the creatinine value in compensated renal insufficiency is 133-177μmol/L, the creatinine value in decompensated renal insufficiency is 177-442μmol/L, the creatinine value in renal failure is 442-707μmol/L, and the creatinine value in end-stage uremia is >707μmol/L. Causes of abnormal creatinine metabolism include massive fluid loss, overexertion, glomerulonephritis, hypertensive nephropathy, etc. In general, mild creatinine elevation can be relieved relatively quickly by removing the causative factors and drinking more water. If the creatinine elevation is caused by more serious diseases, corresponding treatment measures are needed. In addition, patients with elevated creatinine should pay attention to salt intake and avoid smoking, drinking and staying up late to avoid aggravating kidney damage.
