It is very common for infants to have red bumps on their scalp. As children are too young, their skin defences and self-repair capabilities are weak, so they are susceptible to attack by bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms, resulting in red bumps on the scalp. In addition, as babies and young children are unable to turn over on their own and lie in one position for long periods of time, this can easily lead to sweat pooling and inflammation of the hair follicles.
