What should we do about people with epilepsy?

The number of patients with epilepsy has been increasing in recent years, and great progress has been made in its treatment. Due to the irregular and unsystematic treatment of epilepsy in the past, many epileptic patients suffer from severe mental and intellectual impairment. As a result, not only can they not study, work and live as normal people, but also cannot enjoy love and family as normal people. Some people in the society, due to the wrong understanding of epilepsy, oppose their children to marry epileptic patients. This makes many adult epileptic patients not only suffer from the disease, but also suffer from mental torture due to discrimination in love and marriage issues. As a matter of fact, most epileptic patients do not have mental and intellectual disabilities as long as they receive early systematic and regular treatment, and they are never mentally ill or “crazy”. They can work, live and study like normal people. They should also enjoy love and family happiness as normal people do. Therefore, people with epilepsy who have complete control or basic control should not be discriminated against when it comes to marriage.
