Cholera Vaccine Precautions

The cholera vaccine should not be taken with fever, severe hypertension, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, AIDS, or tuberculosis, and should not be taken by pregnant women or infants under two years of age. The cholera vaccine should be taken two hours after a meal, do not eat for one hour after taking the vaccine, and do not eat cold, greasy, spicy food for two days after taking the vaccine. Some people may experience mild abdominal pain, hives, nausea, diarrhea and other adverse reactions after taking the vaccine.
