Infant vomiting

Infant vomiting is a relatively common phenomenon, mostly due to physiological reasons, but in a few cases due to disease. The different causes of infant vomiting are different in terms of handling measures and precautions. Physiological vomiting: 1. Reasons: The infant’s digestive system is not well developed, such as improper feeding posture of the mother, too much milk in a single feeding, or frequent change of milk powder, which may lead to excessive air inhalation and excessive digestive burden when the infant sucks, which may lead to vomiting; 2. When breastfeeding, one thumb should be placed above the breast and the remaining four fingers below the breast, and the nipple and most of the areola should be placed in the baby’s mouth to prevent air inhalation. At the same time control the amount of milk, do not feed too much milk at once, too much ingestion can also lead to vomiting, it is generally recommended that 20-30 minutes is the best time; 3. Note: Pay attention to regular feeding, after feeding the baby can hold the baby vertically, let the baby’s head rest on the mother’s shoulder, and gently pat the back, that is, pat the milk compartment, which is conducive to more than the discharge of gas. Pathological vomiting: 1. Reasons: If the mother adjusts the posture and time, the infant still vomits milk seriously, or is accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, diarrhea, etc., then consider the possible existence of disease factors, such as pyloric stenosis, gastroesophageal reflux and other digestive system diseases, and even colds and other problems may cause the infant to vomit; 2. If the case is serious, parents should take the infant to the hospital to improve the physical examination, ultrasound, esophageal endoscopy and other examinations to clarify the cause after diagnosis and provide targeted treatment; 3, precautions: after the diagnosis of disease, parents should closely observe the infant’s normal vital signs, such as pulse, blood pressure, respiration, etc., and pay attention to the medication to avoid damage to the infant because the infant is still young.
