Is chest tightness a precursor to sudden death?

Sudden death may be preceded by tightness in the chest, but this symptom is present in a wide range of conditions. The presence of tightness in the chest does not necessarily indicate sudden death. There are many causes of chest tightness, such as coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, heart failure, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and so on. Chest tightness is most common in coronary heart disease, some patients in the exertion of chest tightness, chest pain and other symptoms, rest relief, and sudden death is not directly related. Sudden death generally has no fixed aura symptoms, that is, no one symptom can “predict” sudden death. There are not only cardiac sudden death, but also cerebrovascular diseases that may cause sudden death. Although there is no direct correlation between chest tightness and sudden death, both of them are related to heart disease, if the patient has chest tightness after activity or frequent chest tightness recently, it is recommended to go to cardiovascular internal medicine department for consultation.
