New coronary pneumonia is characterized by fever, dry cough, and malaise, with a few patients having symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia, and diarrhea. Severe cases may rapidly progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, uncorrectable metabolic acidosis and bleeding and clotting dysfunction, and multi-organ failure. Treatment includes determining the treatment site according to the condition, general therapy, oxygen therapy, and antiviral therapy, including interferon nebulization and intravenous antiviral drugs. Avoid blind or inappropriate use of antibacterial drugs, especially the combination of broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs. The principles of treatment for severe and critically ill cases are active prevention and treatment of complications, treatment of underlying diseases, prevention of secondary infections, and timely organ function support on the basis of symptomatic treatment.
