Internal fixation treatment of hip fractures in the elderly

Although the pain and swelling caused by the fracture itself will be relieved within 1-2 weeks after the injury or traction, the respiratory and urinary infections, osteoporosis and cardiac, cerebral and pulmonary embolism caused by the formation of deep vein thrombosis in the lower limbs due to prolonged bed rest will significantly affect the prognosis of the disease and shorten the life span of the elderly. The proximal femoral spiral blade anti-spin intramedullary nail is a widely used clinical implant for femoral trochanteric fractures, especially for elderly patients with osteoporosis, which can provide a good solution for hip reconstruction and early weight bearing. Internal fixation by percutaneous insertion of PFNA after closed repositioning is less invasive, faster postoperative recovery and better limb function, and has now become a routine technique in our orthopedic department.
