How to prevent otitis media in children

Acute suppurative otitis media is mostly seen in children, which affects their health and life, and also brings great trouble to parents. Therefore, we should do a good job of prevention, and the measures to prevent otitis media are: 1. Exercise, improve physical fitness and strengthen children’s resistance, which is the basis of preventing all diseases. 2. Actively prevent and treat upper respiratory tract infections. In the case of upper respiratory tract infection, pathogenic bacteria can invade the middle ear via the eustachian tube and cause otitis media. Therefore, when a child has a cold, inflammation of the tonsils or other upper respiratory tract infections, it is important to actively treat them so as not to cause otitis media. 3. Do a good job of vaccination against infectious diseases. Acute infectious diseases are one of the causes of otitis media in children, such as scarlet fever, measles, whooping cough, typhoid fever, etc. Pathogenic microorganisms can invade the middle ear via the eustachian tube and cause otitis media. Therefore, it is an effective measure to prevent otitis media by doing a good job of vaccinating against infectious diseases and reducing the occurrence of infectious diseases. 4. Adopt the correct breastfeeding posture. When breastfeeding, the baby should be held up so that the head is upright and the outflow rate should be properly controlled when there is too much milk. 5. Those with tympanic membrane perforation and tympanic chamber placement should be prohibited from swimming, and sewage should be prevented from flowing into the ear when bathing. 6. Promptly treat diseases of neighboring organs, such as adenoid hypertrophy and chronic tonsillitis. Adenoid grooves and tonsillar crypt can hide bacteria and viruses, which can easily cause otitis media. If your child has these diseases, they should be treated promptly. Acute suppurative otitis media is a common disease in children and its occurrence can be reduced by raising awareness and taking effective preventive measures. If a child is found to have symptoms related to otitis media, he or she should pay attention to it and seek treatment at a hospital in a timely manner.
