Infertility, should I go to the hospital?

1.When should I be checked for infertility? Couples who have a normal sex life and have not used contraception but have not been able to conceive for 1 year need to go to the hospital for infertility related examination and treatment. 2.How to check for infertility? Both spouses should be examined; the examination should start from the one that is less painful and less expensive. The male partner should check semen and the female partner should detect ovulation. In turn, ultrasound, hormone and tubal examination should be done; then hysteroscopy, laparoscopy or combined hysteroscopy should be performed. Based on the results of the tests, the cause of infertility is analyzed, and then treatment and guidance for pregnancy is given according to the cause. After a series of examinations, about 20% of the patients cannot find the cause of infertility and may need ovulation treatment, artificial insemination or IVF assisted reproduction. 3. How to perform a tubal examination? Tubal imaging is done 3-7 days after menstruation and intercourse is prohibited after menstruation. Iodine oil tubal imaging is generally used. A few hospitals in China have carried out ultrasound tubal imaging (the contrast agent is hexafluorinated microbubbles). 4. How to monitor ovulation with ultrasound? How to monitor follicles: For patients with regular menstruation (28-32 days), ultrasound should be done on day 10 (count the first day when you see blood from your period), and then every 1 to 3 days depending on the size of the growing follicles. Until the follicle reaches about 18-22mm, the urine LH peak is measured and a positive result indicates that the egg will mature and ovulation is imminent. At this point, intercourse (or IUI) will allow the sperm and egg to unite in a clear fallopian tube. A repeat negative ultrasound 3-4 days after intercourse will show the disappearance of the large one. Or the formation of corpus luteum with a small amount of fluid area at the bottom of the pelvic cavity can determine the dominant egg expulsion so that ovulation can be diagnosed as normal for this cycle. 5.Are there other methods to detect ovulation besides ultrasound? Basal body temperature can be measured by taking the temperature every morning and recording it. When the body temperature rises by 0.3-0.5℃, it means ovulation. You can also use ovulation test strips to measure LH in urine. When the ovulation test strips change from strong positive to weak positive, it means ovulation. In addition, you can go to the hospital to draw blood to check the hormone level, combined with the ultrasound examination to detect ovulation. During the ovulation period, the white belt shows a straining.
