Condiments such as chilli, mustard and vinegar can stimulate gastric acid secretion; foods high in sugar, salt and spices can cause increased gastric acid secretion; greasy foods are fatty, and excessive intake of fat can stimulate gallbladder contraction and secretion, delaying gastric emptying and making gastric acid worse. In addition, frequent consumption of coffee, strong tea and alcohol can all cause excessive secretion of stomach acid.
