Dry cough is mainly treated in two ways: 1) symptomatic cough suppressant treatment, commonly used drugs include compound licorice tablets, strong loquat, dextromethorphan, pentoxifylline, sulforaphane cough capsules, etc. 2) cause-specific treatment, diseases that can cause irritating dry cough, including mycoplasma pneumonia, cough variant asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis, etc. Erythromycin, azithromycin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, etc. can be administered orally if the patient’s cough is caused by mycoplasma infection. If the patient’s dry cough is caused by cough variant asthma, oral montelukast sodium, inhaled Symbicort or sulforaphane may be given. If the dry cough is caused by a malignant tumor of the lung, drug therapy is usually not taken, but surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy or targeted cellular drug therapy, immunotherapy, etc. need to be considered.
