Hyperuricemia is often caused by purine metabolism disorders, excessive production of urate and/or reduced renal excretion of uric acid, and can be reduced by adjusting the dietary structure and taking medications (e.g. Febuxostat).
1. Adjust the dietary structure: high uric acid people need to adjust the diet structure, try to low purine diet, can be appropriate to eat fruits, vegetables, dairy, protein and so on. At the same time should also avoid the intake of high-purine foods such as seafood, animal offal, alcohol and broth, etc., can be appropriate to drink more water, in order to promote uric acid excretion.
2. Taking drugs: If the blood uric acid level is high, patients can also follow the doctor’s instructions to take drugs to inhibit uric acid production, such as febuxostat, allopurinol, etc., to promote uric acid excretion of drugs, such as phenylbromarone, etc., and alkalinizing drugs such as sodium bicarbonate and so on.
If the blood uric acid level is found to be increased, it is recommended that patients consult the rheumatology and immunology department of the regular hospital in a timely manner, and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the diagnosis and treatment.
