What’s wrong with chest pain when you lift your chest?

Chest pain when lifting the chest may be related to chest wall injury, pneumothorax and pleurisy, costochondritis and other reasons.
1. Chest wall injury: Chest wall injury is mostly caused by muscle strain, falling from height, external force, etc. When there is injury on the chest wall, chest pain is caused by pushing up the chest which will involve the injured chest wall.
2. Pneumothorax: In patients with pneumothorax, there is gas accumulation in the pleural cavity, which makes the pressure in the chest cavity rise, and when the pressure in the chest cavity rises, there is an outward thrust on the thorax, which causes hidden pain in the chest. When you hold up your chest, you need to exert force on your chest, which can aggravate the pain.
3. Pleurisy: When the pleura becomes inflamed, the lubricating fluid between the two layers of pleura will be reduced, and when the chest is lifted, the two layers of pleura rub against each other, chest pain will occur.
4. Costal chondritis: If inflammation occurs in the cartilage at the junction of the sternum and ribs due to trauma, infection and other factors, there will be obvious pain, swelling and other abnormal sensations in the anterior chest. When lifting the chest, pulling the front chest, it will cause pain.
If you have chest pain when holding up your chest, you should go to the hospital in time to receive treatment to avoid adverse consequences.
